I hold a B.A. in Psychology from Stony Brook University and a Wellness Counseling Certification from Cornell University. I am currently completing my MSEd in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, with clinical training and supervision as part of my graduate program. I am under the supervision of Aleicia Alexander, LMHC-D.My additional training includes certification as an Integrated Therapeutic Alignments (ITA) Energy Medicine Practitioner at the Tier 3 level, as well as ongoing study in meditation and integrative approaches to well-being.My clinical training is grounded in psychology and evidence-based counseling approaches, while my additional wellness and holistic training allows me to take an integrative perspective when appropriate. My work is conducted within the scope of my training and under appropriate clinical supervision. The services described on this website and offered through my practice are wellness counseling services, focused on personal growth, self-awareness, and overall well-being. They are distinct from mental health counseling and are not intended to diagnose or treat mental health conditions.
Mental health counseling and wellness counseling both provide space for self-reflection and personal growth, but they differ in their primary focus and purpose.Mental health counseling focuses on the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health conditions, such as anxiety disorders, depression, and trauma-related concerns. Sessions may involve exploring emotional pain, understanding how past experiences influence present patterns, and developing strategies to manage symptoms and improve daily functioning. Mental health counseling is a regulated healthcare service that is often covered by health insurance, depending on your provider, plan, and eligibility.Wellness counseling focuses on personal development, goal-setting, and creating meaningful change in your life. It may be a good fit if you want to build confidence, navigate a life transition, strengthen relationships, or feel more aligned with your values and goals. Together, we identify what you want to change, explore the beliefs, behaviors, and barriers that may be getting in the way, and develop practical strategies to help you move forward. Drawing on an understanding of human behavior, motivation, and behavioral change, wellness counseling emphasizes enhancing your well-being, building skills, and creating a more fulfilling life rather than treating a mental health condition.Which is right for you? If you are experiencing mental health symptoms or emotional distress that require clinical assessment and treatment, mental health counseling may be the best fit. If you are looking to increase self-awareness, overcome obstacles, strengthen specific skills, or make intentional changes in your life, wellness counseling may be a better fit.Wellness counseling is a separate service from mental health counseling and is not a substitute for mental health treatment. Insurance coverage and payment options differ between services. If you are lookin for mental health counseling instead of wellness counseling I am happy to offer you an aligned referral.

If additional sessions are missed without notice, the full session fee will be due. This policy helps ensure we mutually respect each other’s time and commitment to the counseling process.
Everyone’s process is unique. Some clients notice shifts within a few sessions, while others prefer ongoing support over several months. We’ll regularly check in on your progress to ensure your sessions continue to feel aligned. Clients usually go from weekly, to bi-weekly, to monthly support until they “graduate” from counseling. I will always welcome you back if you need to take a break for any reason.
