Challenges in friendships, dating, or communication

Loneliness or feeling misunderstood

The uncertainty of growing up in today’s world
You want to help, but you may not know how.
I understand, and I’m here to support both you and your child.

My approach to Teen Empowerment Coaching
Navigating the Teen Years
Adolescence is a powerful period of growth and self-discovery, but it can also feel overwhelming. Between academic pressures, friendships, social media, and figuring out who you are, it’s easy to feel lost, anxious, or unsure of yourself.
Like anxiety, which is a natural response to change and stress, the teenage years bring many emotions that can be difficult to manage. You’re learning how to balance independence with responsibility, self-expression with belonging, and self-confidence with the fear of being misunderstood.
My Approach to Teen Empowerment
It is my goad to create a safe, judgment-free space where teens can explore their thoughts, emotions, and challenges freely. My role isn’t to tell them who to be, it’s to help them uncover who they already are.
Through empathy, wellness counseling, and practical tools, I help them:
-
Understand and manage everyday stress and anxiety
-
Build healthy confidence and self-esteem
-
Strengthen emotional regulation and communication skills
-
Learn coping skills to take into early adulthood and beyond
-
Stay organized and put aligned systems in place
-
Develop resilience and self-trust
Together, we explore their challenges, strengths, and dreams, so they can move through their teen years with greater clarity, balance, and confidence.
FAQs for Teen Empowerment & Life Skills Coaching
What is the difference between teen empowerment coaching and traditional therapy or school counseling?
Teen empowerment and life skills coaching focuses on personal growth, self-awareness, confidence, and practical skills that help teens navigate everyday challenges. Sessions may explore communication, decision-making, organization, healthy boundaries, and preparing for greater independence.
Clinical mental health counseling focuses on assessing and treating mental health concerns, while school counseling often addresses academic planning and school-related needs. Teen empowerment coaching is designed around personal development and life skills rather than the diagnosis or treatment of mental health conditions.
How do sessions work? Are they virtual or in-person?
Sessions are tailored to each teen's goals, needs, and stage of development. Depending on availability and what is appropriate for the service, sessions may be offered virtually or in person in Sayville, NY. Sessions typically last approximately 45 minutes and may include conversation, guided reflection, mindfulness practices, and practical exercises that teens can apply to everyday situations.

What are your credentials?
I hold a B.A. in Psychology from Stony Brook University and a Wellness Counseling Certification from Cornell University. I am also completing my MSEd in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, with clinical training and supervision as part of my graduate program.
My approach draws on psychology, mindfulness, self-reflection, and holistic wellness practices to support personal growth and well-being. I enjoy working with teens because adolescence is an important time to develop self-awareness, confidence, healthy habits, and skills that can support them as they transition into adulthood.
