Equine-Assisted Counseling
Equine Animal-Assisted Counseling is a program in which counseling will be provided on a peaceful horse ranch through both the formation of a bond with the horses and multiple other modalities.
These 50 minute, weekly sessions will consist of activities such as grooming, feeding, and leading a horse; as well as nature and mindfulness based interventions. Depending on the client's needs and preferences, activities such as guided meditations, mindfulness walks, and self-care skills training will be incorporated.
This is a uniquely individualized program that assists with a wide variety of offsets, ranging from the desire to spend more time connecting with nature, to handling difficult life stressors, to managing a mental or behavioral issue.
By utilizing animal-assisted therapy, a client-centered approach, and some aspects of psychotherapy deemed appropriate for the environment, this program is designed to foster well-rounded personal development for people of all ages and activity levels.
